It was once an original West Coast fisherman’s bar, and if you know anything about the real West Coast fishermen of days gone by, you’ll understand why it is across the road from a police station. Fast forward a few decades – the bar is still there but the bar brawls are a distant memory and, instead of fish-scented beards, the venue is filled with patrons waiting to sink their teeth into some of the best sea food available. Where will you find this place? It’s called the Weskus Kombuis, so be sure not to miss out if you’re heading to Lamberts Bay!

Given that the Weskus Kombuis is a stones throw away from the Lamberts Bay fishing docks, only the freshest fish make the cut! Yellowtail, snoek, hake, crayfish: straight from the sea to your plate. That’s how seafood should be served! If you’re not in the mood for fish, however, the menu also offers steaks, hamburgers, chicken dishes, salads and pizzas (and so much more).

The old fisherman’s bar also offers customers several seating arrangements. You can either sit outside under umbrellas, inside on a glass-fronted covered deck, deep inside the restaurant itself and, for those with a liquid lunch in mind, there’s also seating at the bar.

The restaurant has good coastal views and a welcoming atmosphere, making this the perfect destination for a lazy afternoon.
